[Salon] The 60 Minutes Program on El Salvador's Horrific CECOT SuperMax Prison that Bari Weiss Decided Wasn't Something You Ought to See

Here’s the recent 60 Minutes segment on El Salvador’s notorious CECOT (Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo) maximum-security prison that Bari Weiss, CBS News’s new editor-in-chief, refused to clear for release—supposedly because she didn’t think it met her exacting editorial standards. It tells the story of Venezuelan men whom the Trump administrator summarily deported to this hellish facility. El Salvador’s repressive president, Nayib Bukele, is a Trump administration favorite. On that, see the video tied to this link: Bukele and Trump at a White House Press Conference

Watch the 60 Minutes program and judge for yourself whether the reporting is any less thorough than what 60 Minutes has produced in the course of its long and storied history.

I’m also appending below another video on the same prison, this produced by PBS’s Frontline and ProPublica.
